Biography

Leslie Bennett edited and published Happenings Magazine, an award-winning magazine for over twenty years. It covered environmental issues, education, the arts, the unhoused, domestic violence, and community events. When COVID-19 reared its ugly head, it caused many people to reevaluate their lives. Leslie had always wanted to be an author, and this downtime allowed her to pursue a book idea she had mulled over for a few years. While riding her bike at the beach, a friend made an offhand remark about all the people in Los Angeles who are without housing, are drug addicts, or are alcoholics. She knew in her heart this wasn't true. Peaks & Valleys points to the fact that there are lots of reasons for homelessness.
