Biography

Darryl Wade is a professional playwright, actor and co-owner (with his wife, Sherry) of The Black Fedora Comedy Mystery Theatre in Charleston, South Carolina. He has written and produced fifteen comic mystery, audience-interactive plays seen by some 300,000 guests, with his sixteenth show – Fred Isn’t Dead … Yet! – premiering Fall of 2026. Darryl’s plays are fully-scripted, laugh-out-loud mysteries featuring roles for four actors and twenty volunteer guest performers. Four of Darryl’s shows currently running in repertoire are: Help, I Think My Characters Are Trying to Kill Me! (A Writer's Nightmare), Murder at the Redneck Reunion, Murder at Captain Jack's Flapjack Shack, and in its fourteenth year, Inspector NoClue's Murder Mystery. At the moment, Darryl is enjoying writing his first comic mystery novel about an unlucky but lovable small time thief.
