Biography
Kirsten Shuford is a Washington, DC area-based writer of mystery and suspense, and author of
the debut novel CONTROL.
As a retired intelligence analyst with over thirty years of service - including twenty-five with the
CIA, FBI, NSA, Department of Defense and US Navy - Kirsten has over two decades of experience
in meticulous research, critical analysis and drafting impactful statements for wide and diverse
audiences. These essential qualifications inform and shape her writing, especially in the
character of CONTROL’s protagonist, amateur sleuth Andrea Scheffler.
Kirsten has spent the past fifteen years outside of work reading all matter of mysteries and spy
novels, gaining an appreciation for and falling in love with the language and pacing, as well as
the art of the twist! Kirsten is also a competitive crossworder, rabid Star Wars and John Williams soundtrack fan.
