The Business of Writing
Daniel Babka grew up in Ohio. He served in VISTA (the domestic Peace Corps), attended law school and a theological seminary, and worked as a community organizer in New York City. His debut novel, No More Illusions: A Dylan Blake Mystery, was widely praised by Kirkus Reviews and elevated to their trade publication for film and literary agents as "Accomplished, ambitious crime fiction featuring a sensitive, complex hero and a promising array of secondary characters ....a multilayered tale that has shades of California noir a la Chinatown” (the movie recognized as among the greatest films in American cinema history that garnered 11 Oscar nominations). His most recent book, "Lightning Bugs And Aliens," a novella, was recently awarded 1st Prize For A Fiction Novel in IndieReader's nationwide 2024 Discovery Awards contest. He has two adult children and now resides in Northern California where he's at work on a second Dylan Blake mystery-romance suspense story.
