Michael San Francisco is a scientist who recently retired after over 30 years as a university professor and administrator. He has just embarked on writing his first fiction book. His genre is environmental crime; “there may be no blood, but mother nature sheds her tears.” Michael earned his graduate degrees at Boston University and moved to Texas after post-doctoral research at the University of Maryland School of Medicine and The Ohio State University. He has authored over 50 refereed scientific manuscripts and was funded by the National Science Foundation, the National Institutes of Health, US Department of Agriculture and Department of Defense. Michael spends his time cooking with his wife, traveling globally, playing competitive tennis, reading, and hanging out with his children and new grandson. He enjoys volunteering in the areas of food insecurity and the environment.
