Biography
My debut novel, Remembered (Dialogue Books UK/Blackstone Publishing US) was longlisted for the Women’s Prize for Fiction (2019) and shortlisted for the Jhalak Prize (2020). Inspired by Shirley Jackson’s The Lottery, my second book, Curdle Creek (Dialogue Books UK/Blackstone Publishing US), won the Shirley Jackson Award for Novels (2024). I am a finalist for the Hurston Wright Foundation’s Zora Award (2024) and have recently been awarded an RSL Scriptorium Award. I am the Academic Director of Creative Writing at Cambridge University and host podcasts, open mics, talks, and other literary events.
