Biography

Bellamy Gayle is the child of an educated, sophisticated couple who raisedtheir 3 sons and a daughter in a rural environment- the Bayou Lafourche levee near Napoleonville, Louisiana - in a patriotic house of red-painted wood with white trim and a blue-shingled roof. A setter whelped her puppies under the raised foundation. An old wooden pirogue floated, tied to the pier at the foot of the levee, until a young friend inadvertently sank it with a premature shot that peppered the prow with buckshot. Gayle now resides in Lafayette, Louisiana comfort amid both tame and wild life close to the Vermilion River. The family pirogue hasn't been replaced.
