Biography

Cynthia Merritt is a Doctor of Audiology and author of Death by Decibels, a Dr. Elise Harte Mystery. She graduated from San Jose State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology, received her Master’s degree in Audiology from Sacramento State University and her Doctorate degree in Audiology from the Arizona School of Health Sciences. Her work experiences include various medical settings, owning her own business, serving as President of the California Academy of Audiology and on the Ethics board of the American Academy of Audiology, all of which have provided the background for many a mystery Cynthia was born in New York, grew up in San Francisco, and currently lives in the midwest, in central Illinois.
