Barb Goffman is a short story author who’s won the Agatha 4 times, the Macavity twice, and the Anthony, Silver Falchion, and Ellery Queen Readers Award once each. She was the 2024 recipient of the Memorial Golden Derringer Award--the Short Mystery Fiction Society's lifetime achievement award. She’s been a finalist for major crime short story awards 46 times. Her stories have appeared in Alfred Hitchcock’s Mystery Magazine, Black Cat MM, Black Cat Weekly, Ellery Queen’s MM, Sherlock Holmes MM, and many anthologies. EQMM Editor Janet Hutchings called her story "Bug Appétit" "one of the best holiday stories I ever read." Barb is a freelance crime-fiction editor. She especially enjoys working on traditional and cozy mysteries. One book she edited won the Agatha for Best First Novel. Short stories she edited have won the Ellery Queen Readers Award and the Derringer Award and been republished in The Best American Mystery and Suspense and The Best Mystery Stories of the Year.
