I am an active participant in various Sisters in Crime-NE panels and developed a presentation with Janet Raye Stevens: "She Can Do It: Real/ 'Reel' Women in Midcentury Mysteries."
I’m passionate about mysteries from the golden age. My Jessica Minton Mystery Series features the adventure, humor, and suspense of the 1930s-40s, whether in a book or on the screen. This passion inspires my novels that recapture the era’s iconic smart-talking gal, equipped with wit, courage, and integrity. With the aid of her madcap sister Liz; her wise alec cat Dust; and, later, her husband, Jessica faces off against Nazi fifth columnists, suspect cops, femmes fatales, and underworld tough guys. Bait and Switch and Letter from a Dead Man are the first two of the series. The third, Always Play the Dark Horse, brings in another of my passions: thoroughbred racing. The latest entry is Shadows of a Dark Past, a tale of the supernatural in the mode of The Uninvited. I have also just added a stand alone mystery, Surprise!, that also features a classic-era smart, independent heroine, Vicki Westlake.
