As a college professor I've taught a lot of creative writing over the years in fiction and poetry. Happy to speak to the process of writing.
Biography
Laurel S. Peterson is a community college English professor. She has written a column for Gannett Suburban Newspapers on local history and served as editor of the literary journal Inkwell and is currently on its editorial board. Her poetry has been published in many small literary journals. She has published two poetry chapbooks, That’s the Way the Music Sounds (Finishing Line Press) and Talking to the Mirror (Last Automat Press). She also co-edited a collection of essays on women’s justice titled (Re)Interpretations: The Shapes of Justice in Women’s Experience. She has written two mystery novels, Shadow Notes and The Fallen (Woodhall Press) and two full-length poetry collections of poetry, Do You Expect Your Art to Answer? and Daughter of Sky (Futurecyle Press). She served as the town of Norwalk, Connecticut’s poet laureate from April 2016 – April 2019 and currently serves on its public library board.
