James W. Ziskin—Jim to his friends—is best known for his seven Ellie Stone mysteries, which feature a plucky female newspaper reporter in the early 1960s. He’s earned critical acclaim for the rich historical detail, engaging characters, and memorable turns of phrase in his work. The Ellie Stone mysteries have won an Anthony, a Barry, and two Macavity awards. They’ve been finalists as well for the Edgar, Lefty, annd Sue Grafton Memorial awards. In addition to his novels, Jim writes short stories, including the Edgar Award finalist “The Twenty-five-year Engagement.” A lifelong student of languages, Jim speaks French and Italian. He recently decided retired life wasn’t interesting enough, so he went back to work and now teaches high school French in Winchester, Massachusetts. His most recent book is BOMBAY MONSOON, a thriller set in 1975 India during the Emergency.
